[Free Audiobooks] 2 free titles from AudioSYNC Summer of Reading [Young Adult, Science Fiction, LGBT Drama Play]

AudioFile’s SYNC Summer of Listening 2017 promotion for young adults continues, which offers 2 free audiobooks per week—1 classic or non-fiction, 1 modern—as free MP3 downloads, usually available worldwide (some titles are subject to geo-restrictions, and you can see the planned release schedule here).

This week’s two selected titles, available until 7am Eastern Time on June 1st, are as follows:

  • Freakling by Lana Krumwiede, a dystopian science fiction thriller set in a walled city where nearly everyone has a telekinetic power except for the protagonist, who must hide his lack of “psi” and pretend to be just like the rest, lest he be banished; from Brilliance Audio, read by Nick Podehl
  • Boy by Anna Ziegler, her LGBT drama play about a boy seriously injured during an accident whose family is convinced by a doctor to raise as a girl instead, and the ensuing explorations of gender identity and sexuality as the child grows up into an adult; from L. A. Theatre Works, performed by a full cast in front of a live audience

Offered as DRM-free MP3s through 7am Eastern Time on June 1st, available in selected countries worldwide (requires installing Overdrive Media console software on your PC, Mac, Android, or iDevice, and you need to finish downloading before the time limit).
