This was originally published in 2001 in the March 28 issue of Sci Fiction magazine and and this reprint includes an afterword by the author about the inspiration behind and creative decisions in writing it.

The story is an epistolary tale, centred around a correspondence trying to figure out possible scientific explanation for a mysteriously appearing and disappearing cat that may or may not be more than it seems.
