This was originally published in 1962 by Brown Watson Ltd using the pseudonym Alan Holmes and was later reprinted by Sabre as part of their Sabre Westerns line.

The story stars a man who inherits a large horse ranch in Nevada, and finds that extensive land ownership carries certain troubles as a deadly determined developer seeks to build a nearby dam, which apparently they combat by triggering a fake goldrush to steal attention and workers away, which in turn leads to a potentially fatal escalation of hostilities.

This was originally published in 1952 by T. V. Boardman using the pseudonym Tom Gordon.

The story involves a dispute over the establishment of a startup business, as one man’s ambitious plan to bring wire fencing to Texas literally gets shot down, leaving his nephew to continue to try to establish it in the face of potentially deadly opposition, which includes both prominent local townspeople who are being funded by Easterner concerns to keep the fencing industry from gaining a foothold, as well as the local Native Americans, who are against it for their own reasons.

[Free eBook] Hidden Guns by Gordon Landsborough [Western Historical Action Novel]

Hidden Guns by the late British author Gordon Landsborough is his vintage standalone western historical action adventure novel, free for a limited time courtesy of publisher Endeavour Press’ Pioneering Press imprint.

This was originally published in 1961 by Brown, Watson Ltd.. The story is one of sibling vengeance as a deadly gunslinger must solve the mystery of his brother’s abrupt murder, meanwhile foiling a greater plot as well, which may be preying upon the troubles of a nearby Apache reservation. NB: This was written during the 1960s and uses some terms to describe assorted ethnic groups which are no longer acceptable usage today, as well as a few stereotypically clichéd depictions which were unfortunately widespread for the time. YMMV if it’s not the sort of thing that you want to come across in your leisure entertainment reading, even if said groups are not villainized in the story.

This was originally published in 2010 by Robert Hale as part of their Black Horse Western line. The story is a tale of sibling relationships and revenge, starring a prizefighting cowboy whose career is interrupted by the disappearance of his brother, a Pinkerton Detective who was on the trail of a train robbers. The cowboy’s investigations lead him to the brothers who run the outlaw gang responsible, as well as their dangerously beautiful sister.

This was originally published in 1954 by Hamilton & Co. as #130 in their Panther Books line, using the Mike M’Cracken pseudonym. The story is set in the aftermath of the US Civil War, when a band of entrepreneurial outlaws take advantage of the chaos by moving into a small town as the ostensible new post-war authorities, using made-up new laws to terrorize the inhabitants, whose only hope of salvation is a wandering amnesiac gunslinger veteran who cannot remember which side of the war he fought on, but is dedicated to the cause of justice nonetheless.

Iron Jack Rides by the late prolific British author Gordon Landsborough is vintage historical western action adventure novel, free for a limited time courtesy of publisher Endeavour Press’ Pioneering imprint.

This was originally published in 1952 by Hamilton under the title The Pony Express using the pseudonym Mike M’Cracken, and was later reprinted by Robert Hale as part of their Black Horse Western series under its current title, using the pseudonym L. G. Holmes. The story revolves around an early attempt to set up the Pony Express historical mail delivery service, as a Senator tries to entrust both his mission and his niece to a dubious character with a sinister secret.
