Twin of the Amazon by the late British author John Russell Fearn is the 6th novel in the Golden Amazon Saga series of science fiction adventures, free for a limited time courtesy of publisher Endeavour Press’ Venture imprint.

This was originally published in 1954 by World’s Work Ltd and this new edition includes two new essays by British editor and author Philip Harbottle, one describing the creation and publication and attempted reprint history of the series, which was very popular during the 1950s and 60s and ran to 21 original novels which were serialized in The Toronto Star Weekly and several posthumous ones as well, and another which is a specific introduction to this novel’s story.

The series stars a scientifically created superwoman with greatly enhanced intellect and physical abilities, designed to save the world in ruins after a war, who develops an ambiguous position as she struggles with being set far apart from humanity and wavers between villain and heroine. This installment involves a feud between two planets, as structures are being mysteriously destroyed on Earth shortly after an attempted colony scouting mission on a seemingly lifeless Mars.

The Golden Amazon by the late British author John Russell Fearn is the 1st novel in his long-running Golden Amazon series of vintage pulp science fiction adventures, free again for a limited time courtesy of publisher Endeavour Press’ Venture imprint.

This was originally published in 1944 by World’s Work and and later reprinted over the decades by Harlequin and Gryphon Books’ SF Rediscovery line. The series, which was very popular during the 1950s and 60s and ran to 21 original novels which were serialized in The Toronto Star Weekly and several posthumous ones as well, stars a scientifically-created superwoman with a greatly enhanced intellect and physical abilities, who was initially morally ambiguous.

This tale gives her obligatory origin story, wherein a scientist starts creating her as a reaction to the terrible cost of World War II, seeking to craft the perfect person to rule the world, who may wind up being too detached from humanity to use her power for its ultimate good.

[Free eBook REPEAT] The Man Who Sold the Earth by John Russell Fearn [Vintage Science Fiction Collection]

The Man Who Sold the Earth by the late British author John Russell Fearn, edited by British author Philip Harbottle, is a collection of his vintage science fiction short stories, free again for a limited time courtesy of publisher Endeavour Press’ Venture imprint.

These were mostly originally published during the 1940s in various genre magazines, but a few are posthumous collaborations by other authors with his estate, which appeared from the 1970s onwards.

This collection has a new introduction by editor Harbottle, and contains seven stories which mostly explore themes of space or dimensional travel.

Fires of Vengeance by the late British author John Russell Fearn is a vintage standalone western historical action adventure novel novel, free for a limited time courtesy of publisher Endeavour Press’ Frontier imprint.

This was originally published in 1956 by Brown Watson under the title Phantom Avenger using the pseudonym Jed McCloud and also credited in later printings under the pseudonym John Slate before being reprinted with its current title and credit as part of the Linford Western Library.

The story is a tale of retribution against injustice, centred around a criminally-minded partnership looking to exploit a valuable oil field in Texas by eliminating competing claims and instituting a reign of terror by recruiting an outlaw gang to suppress the locals, only to find a mysterious “phantom avenger” rising up in revenge against his plans.

[Free eBook] The Avenging Ranger by Philip Harbottle [Western Historical Action Novel]

The Avenging Ranger by British author Philip Harbottle is a standalone western historical action adventure novel, free for a limited time courtesy of publisher Endeavour Press’ Frontier imprint.

This was originally published in 2002 by Robert Hale as part of their Black Horse Western line using the pseudonym Conrad G. Holt based on a story by the late John Russell Fearn which came out under the same title in 1948.

The story features a ruthless oil baron’s attempt to terrorize locals into selling, and a resisting rancher’s plucky schoolteacher daughter who finds herself drawn into a web of murder and revenge as a mysterious stranger interferes with the oil baron’s plans.

This story finds her commissioned to figure out who is spying upon the dealings of an interplanetary shipping company, and uncovering the lingering scheme of an embittered former V-rocket scientist who has apparently laid a terrible revenge plan using the capabilities of his invention.

This was originally published in 1950 by Scion, and was later reprinted by Robert Hale as part of their Black Horse Western line using the pseudonym Max Elton, apparently revised by British author Philip Harbottle, who has co-written a number of posthumous tales based on Fearn’s work.

The story features a treasure hunt starring an adventurous young woman and a group of companions embarking on a quest to find her father’s long-lost cache of gold, which outlaws also happen to be after.
