Colossus: The Boxset by the late British author D. F. Jones is an omnibus edition of his Colossus trilogy of vintage science fiction technothrillers, free for a limited time courtesy of publisher Endeavour Press’ Venture imprint.
This contains all three novels of the trilogy: Colossus, The Fall of Colossus, & Colossus and the Crab , which were originally published in 1966, 1974, and 1977 by Hart-Davis and Berkley’s Medallion imprint, and of which the first was adapted into the film Colossus: The Forbin Project. This series centres around a man’s increasingly desperate attempts to control the rogue supercomputer he has designed, which is trying to take over the world. The self-contained stories in it involve a Cold War competition to begin with, and eventually culminate in an alien invasion.
