This book comprises a biographical history and character studies of various members of the prominent Terry family of British actors who became a theatrical dynasty during the late 19th century and onwards, whose members included award-winning actor and film director John Gielgud. Many of the family were personal acquaintances or professional colleagues of the author, who was for a time a member of one of their theatre companies, as well as a close friend of Dame Ellen Terry.

Seven Stages by the late English author Geoffrey Trease, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature who was known for his meticulous historical research and contributions to children’s literature, is his vintage artistic figures biography, free for a limited time courtesy of publisher Endeavour Press’ The Odyssey Press imprint.

This was originally published in 1964 by William Heinemann.

The book was meant as a set of introductory biographical portraits for various notable contributors to the stage in various forms—theatre, opera, ballet, etc.—focusing on seven men and women from selected countries and centuries and associated professions, from Elizabethan playwright Christopher Marlowe to Russian ballerina Anna Pavlova, with suggested Further Reading (circa the 1960s, but some of the titles may have since become public domain and be readable via Project Gutenberg or The Internet Archive, if you are interested).

Sean O’Casey: A Life by British author Garry O’Connor, an award-winning playwright and novelist also known for his theatre biographies, is his biography of the titular late Irish playwright, free for a limited time courtesy of publisher Endeavour Press.

This was originally published in 1988 by Hodder & Stoughton.

This biography apparently focuses on the early/mid-20th century Irish playwright and memoirist Séan O’Casey‘s reinvention of his identity as he embraced his national heritage and mingled political and social consciousness with his creative work, becoming the first to write plays about Dublin working class folk, among other pioneering contributions to drama.
