[Free eBook] Waiting for Callback by Perdita & Honor Cargill [YA Teen Career Dramedy]

Waiting for Callback by the British mother/daughter team of Perdita Cargill & Honor Cargill is the 1st novel in their Waiting for Callback series of YA teen career life experience comedy/drama, free for a limited time courtesy of publisher Simon & Schuster’s Children’s UK imprint.

The series stars an aspiring teen actress from an ordinary, non-acting background. This installment sets up the girl-next-door with her big break as an acting agent discovers her, only for her to discover that the world of auditions is much tougher to succeed in than she thought it would be, with a side of personal drama besides. Apparently, this is being made free to promote the recently-released 2nd-in-series, Take Two, which came out in January.

Offered in the UK only, available at multiple retailers.

Free for a limited time, available in the UK @ Amazon, Kobo, iTunes, Google Play (this did not appear to be free elsewhere when I spot-checked assorted regional stores, YMMV)

When Elektra is discovered by an acting agent, she imagines Oscar glory can’t be far away, but instead lurches from one cringe-worthy moment to the next! Just how many times can you be rejected for the part of ‘Dead Girl Number Three’ without losing hope? And who knew that actors were actually supposed to be multi-lingual, play seven instruments and be trained in a variety of circus skills?

Off-stage things aren’t going well either – she’s fallen out with her best friend, remains firmly in the friend-zone with her crush and her parents are driving her crazy. One way or another, Elektra’s life is now spent waiting for the phone to ring – waiting for callback.

Can an average girl-next-door like Elektra really make it in the world of luvvies and starlets? Geek Girl meets Fame meets New Girl in this brilliantly funny new series!
